Oba Shotobi To Receive ‘Pride of Ikorodu Land’ Award in US
His Royal Majesty, Oba Abdulkabir Adewale Shotobi, (Adegorushen V), the Ayangbure of Ikorodu will receive the Heritage Award “Pride of Ikorodu” in faraway United States of America (U.S.A.).
The award being organized by All African Heritage Association, Atlanta, Georgia, U. S. A. is scheduled to hold on October 30, 2015 at Lion of Judah Event Centre, 6202 Memorial Drive, Stone Mountain, Georgia, 3008, U.S.A.
Other recipients are Oba Adekunle Makamo, the Olowu of Kuta, Ogun State, Mr Gbenga Daniel, Barrister Tochukwu Orajiaku and Prof. Yinka Adedeji among others.
Mr Segun Adekonye, President African Heritage Award said, that the award started last year with Otunba Gani Adams, the factional OPC leader, Joe Odumakin, human rights activists and Mrs Martin Luther King Jnr, wife of the late American Civil Rights leader as recipients.
Also speaking at the parley was Mrs Trinette Odunneye, the Director of Programme, African Heritage Award. She stated that the purposes of African Heritage Award are to promote and honour the people that have impacted positively on the society and humanity; promote African culture and education.
The organizer also confirmed to THE IMPACT that HRM Oba Shotobi will be attending the award in Atlanta, Georgia, USA with other ten important personalities from Ikorodu.
