Bishop Tasks Gov. Ambode, Oba Shotobi On Ipakodo-Igbogbo Road, Security

The Supervising Bishop, United African Methodist Church Cathedral, Igbogbo Circuit, The RT. Revd Mofunlewi B.W. Jpil., has tasked the Governor of Lagos State, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode and the Ayangbure of Ikorodu on good governance and security.

In his sermon during the outing service of Late Elder (Chief) Mrs Comfort Alake Onasanya (Nee Seidu) on Sunday, May 22, 2016, at United African Methodist Church Cathedral, tasked the Governor to ensure that the Ipakodo-Igbogbo road is awarded and completed in good time to address the people’s sufferings

Appealing to the Governor who was represented at the Outing Service by the First Lady, Mrs Bolanle Ambode, the Presiding Bishop stated, “I am appealing to the Governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode to please see to the completion of the Ipakodo-Igbogbo Road project. Though, the road project has commenced from Ipakodo but we want the governor to as matter of urgency award the contract up to its completion stage and also ensure that it is extended into Igbogbo town.”

The Bishop who also complained that the state of the road into Igbogbo has caused serious damage to his jeep and vehicles of many other residents added jokingly that the governor should be responsible for the replacement of his jeep.

“The terrible state of the road has caused serious damages to my vehicle (jeep) and likewise many others. We want the governor to remember us and help rehabilitate the road quickly. Since it is the road that caused damage to my jeep, I am also appealing to the Governor to replace my jeep with brand new one. I am a Bishop and that is what befit my status” Bishop Mofunlewi

To HRM Oba Kabiru Shotobi, the Ayangbure of Ikorodu, Bishop Mofunlewi urged the royal father to use his position in stopping the menace of the land speculators, cultists and other criminalities which are giving Ikorodu bad image.

“I know you are a very important Oba in Ikorodu Division and God will give you the capacity to rule effectively over your subjects. Sir, I want you to do everything within your means to stop the issue of ‘Ajagungbales’, cultism and other cases of criminalities that is affecting Ikorodu’s image. You should order your Baales to stop involving themselves in land matters. I know you can address all these problems because God has given you the authority” said the Bishop.
