LASG/LG 114 Roads: State of Ongoing Construction on 12 Roads in Ikorodu Division

During the first year anniversary Ministerial briefing in May, the Lagos State Government reassured residents of the June completion date for the construction of 114 roads currently ongoing across the 20 Local Governments and 37 local Council Development Areas in the State.
The State’s Commissioner for Local Government and Community Affairs, Hon. Muslim Folami gave the assurance at he Ministerial Press Briefing to herald the first year in office of the Governor Akinwunmi Ambode administration.
He said that the State Government under the leadership of Governor Ambode, always live up to its words, hence the two roads each under construction across the 57 Councils totally 114 roads would be completed on schedule.
Following this reassurance, THE IMPACT reporters, Kunle Adelabu and Anani Olatunji Idris, went to Ijede, LCDA, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA and Ikorodu Local Government to report the state of the roads in the 6 Local Council and Local Council Development Areas in Ikorodu Division.
Construction of Oseni Street, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA by Consteng Nig. Limited. The road is over 80% completed with first asphalt laid, drainage completed and street fixed and working. The residents attested to the quality work done by the contractor.
Kola Ogunkoya Street, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA being handled by Fatub Engineering Nigeria Limited. The street is 100% completed with drainage, street light and asphalt completely laid. The residents also confirmed that the lights are working.
As at Thursday, July 14, 2016, this is the state of work on Osenat Ahmed Crescent, Ijede LCDA. Work still ongoing on the project being handled by Messrs Yotunrant Nigeria Limited
Also as at Thursday, July 14, 2016, this is also the state of work on May Flower Crescent, Ijede LCDA. Work still ongoing on the project being handled by Messrs Breeve Global Resources Limited of Plot 5, AP Road FLCH, Sabo, Ikorodu.
IKORODU CENTRAL LG
When THE IMPACT visited Adeniji/Oluwakemi Street, one of the two roads awarded for construction and being handled by De Cubano Nigeria Limited, it was discovered that while the contractor have completed work on Adeniji Street, Aga, Ikorodu, work still ongoing on Oluwakemi Street. When interviewed, residents of Adeniji complained that the street lights are not working.
