Vacant Stools in Ikorodu Division: Palaces Awaiting New Obas

Adeboruwa Palace, Igbogbo
The last Adeboruwa of Igbogbo was late Oba Johnson Fatola, JP., who joined his ancestors in 2015 after 30years on the throne. The Adeboruwa Kingmakers recently selected a candidate as Adeboruwa-elect and confirmed by the Lagos State Government. While the community is waiting for the installation of a new king, two families are in court challenging the process of Obaship in Igbogbo.
Alajede Palace, Ijede
The journey to fill the vacant position of Alajede stool after the demise of Oba Fatai Adeboye Oresanya, Ladega II and Alajede of Ijede, who joined his ancestors on August 13, 2012, began on March 28, 2013, but the matter is presently in court where a party is challenging the decision of the Alajede Kingmakers in selecting an Oba-elect.
Sekumade Palace, Ipakodo (Ebute)
The late Oba Hassan Omobowale Lasisis Jimbo who was installed as Sekumade of Ipakodo in 1981 joined his ancestors about two decades ago and the community has been unable to resolve the controversies surrounding the stool.
