Best WASSCE Student, Caroline Gets Hon. Agunbiade’s Support

-Handed-over to RHODAS for mentorship

As a follow-up to the celebration of Miss Caroline Oluwadamilare of the Keme Balogun Senior secondary, Ibeshe, as the student with best West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) result in Ikorodu, Hon. Sanai Bolanle Agunbiade, Majority Leader of the Lagos State House of Assembly and lawmaker representing Ikorodu Constituency I presented her with a cheque and also pledged to monitor her academic pursuit in University.

At a dinner on Sunday, October 23, 2016, which took place at Eroz place on Borokinni Street, Ikorodu, Miss Caroline was also formally presented to RHODA Youth Centre for skill acquisition and mentorship.


At the gathering facilitated by a popular entertainment promoter and director of Suave Records, Mr Bashiru Oluwakemi Hassan, to find ways of assisting Caroline in her education pursuit were the Majority Leader, Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Sanai Agunbiade, Director, RHODA Youth Centre, Mrs Tosan Erogbogbo, former Council Leader, Ikorodu Local Government, Hon. Azeez Jimoh Olosugbo and the celebrant and her parents, Mr & Mrs Oluwadamilare.

Hon. Agunbiade in his remarks, thanked the facilitator for the laudable effort in not only ensuring that the student with best WASSCE result in Ikorodu further her education, but also put in place a support system for her to realise her dreams.

“What Bashiru has done is one of the ways to help a representative achieve his duty to his people and we have to appreciate him for deeming it fit to have interest in Caroline’s total development and I will ensure that I do everything within the capacity God has granted me to ensure that she did not only achieve her dreams but also continue bringing glory and honour to her family and Ikorodu

“I’m very proud of her academic achievements and that was why I celebrated during the 2016 edition of mini-marathon and now, she has erased every doubt trailing her WASSCE results by also going ahead to record another outstanding score in JAMB, which further reinforces our reasons for celebrating her in the first place.

“We are interested in celebrating you at the end of every session in your University and we are also looking forward to your graduation with distinction.

“Aside the other plans I have for you which I will not disclose until it materializes, I will also ensure that our representative at the federal level, my colleagues at the State Assembly and the Ikorodu Local Government Sole Administrator not only redeemed their pledges to you now that you’ve opened two bank accounts, but also that they are part of your educational development. But you must not derail from the positive path” Hon. Agunbiade enjoined Caroline.

In his own contribution, Hon. Olosugbo, while admonishing her to be more than before focus and not allow bad influences to jeopardise the trust people have in her, advocated counselling programme for her and also the need for her to start professional accounting examinations early since she is willing to study Accountancy.

Mrs Erogbogbo in her own remark corroborated Hon. Olosugbo and also added that there is need for her to be computer literate and learn a skill.

Mr Oluwadamilare while speaking on behalf of her daughter and family, thanked the lawmaker and others that have shown interests in her daughter’s development.

At the end of the event, Hon. Agunbiade handed-over Miss Caroline to Mrs Tosan Erogbogbo for mentorship, skill and computer training.

A cheque of an undisclosed sum was also presented to her and this unique gesture made her parents who allegedly came to the dinner with the fear of how how to foot her University bill went home smiling.

Hon. Agunbiade had at a grand event to mark the second edition of Independent Day Mini-Marathon on October 1, 2016, at the police barracks playing ground along Igbogbo road celebrated young Miss Caroline Oluwadamilare for her WASSCE feat and pledged to support her academic pursuit..
