APC Primary: Party Leaders, Delegates Adopt Banjo As Ikorodu North Chairmanship Flagbearer

Ahead of the May 20 primary elections of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ikorodu division for the 2017 Council elections, party leaders and delegates have  adopted the former Executive Secretary of  the Ikorodu North Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Ade Adebisi Banjo, as the All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairmanship flag bearer  in the same council.


At the carnival-like event tagged, “Ikorodu North Decides’, held on Monday, May 15, 2017, at the prestigious Oriwu Club , off Shagamu Road, Ikorodu, were members of the APC apex, former council chairmen, ward delegates and party faithful.


As at 2.30pm when our reporter was leaving the venue, the recorder informed that 104 delegates have written their names and signed the attendance register.

Among party leaders present were Alhaji Akibu Adewunmi, Alhaji Musliu Animashaun, Alhaji Badru Enifeni, Mrs Salau, Chief Fayas, Otunba Olasunkanmi Tijani, Hon. Adeola  Jokomba and Prince Ogunleye among others.


Campaign posters, bill boards, t-shirts and other souvenirs were also unveiled for the elections.


Former Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Alhaji Adewunmi threw his weight behind the aspiration of Hon. Banjo and enjoined delegates present to work for his success at the primary.


Alhaji Musliu Animashaun stated, “Banjo is enjoying massive followership because of his good deeds. The entire leadership of our great party is solidly behind him because he is tested, trusted and capable.”


Mrs Salau, All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairman in Ikorodu North, while also speaking at the event stated, “Going by the caliber of party leaders and the formidable delegates here today, you can now see the truth in  what I told you when I called you all (ward excos) for a meeting to inform you about the candidature of Banjo as the preferred choice for the Chairmanship position of Ikorodu North LCDA.”


Alhaji Badru Enifeni in his own  remark stated,“He is a guy that recognizes leadership and doing great for the party members. He is tested, trusted and understands what it takes to run an organization”

Otunba Olasunkanmi Tijani, former Chairman, Ikorodu North Local Council Development Area, stated, “Why do you think the party leaders and former chairmen of our council are united in ensuring victory for Banjo? It is because he is a listening and trusted man. Among the aspirants, only Banjo has the capacity to manage the council and take it to higher level. Do not vote for dishonest people and those that are disrespecting the elders” ,he warned the delegates.


Another former council chairman, Prince Adeola Jokomba stated, “If you want continuity of good governance, friendliness and integrity, Banjo is the man you must vote for during the coming primary elections. We have seen the glimpse of what he is capable of when he served as the Executive Secretary in the council and he is ready and willing to do more.”

During the event, Alhaji Akibu Adwunmi and other party leaders like Otunba Olasunkanmi Tijani, Mrs Salau, Hon. Adeola Jokomba and other leaders presented Hon. Banjo’s to the delegates as the preferred candidate for the Ikorodu North LCDA Chairmanship position in the coming council elections.
