Over 90 delegates including four ward chairmen in Ikorodu North Local Council Area ,on Monday, May 15, 2017, endorsed the candidature of Hon. Mathew Adesanya as All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairmanship candidate for the Ikorodu North Local Council Development Area.
The delegates made their stand known at a parley held at De Kings hotel, Akasoleri, Ikorodu.
Around 4pm when our reporter was leaving the venue, 94 delegates had signed the attendance register while several others were still arriving for the endorsement.
“So far, we have 94 delegates with us and you can see that delegates are still coming into the hall for the parley. We are ready to provide you with a copy of our register at the end of the parley as evidence” the recorder told our reporter.
The parley was held at the same time two other aspirants vying for the same position on the platform of APC were holding their own parleys.
While addressing the delegates, Hon. Mathew appreciated them for identifying with him.
“This is just an interface with the delegates that would be voting at the primary and I’m quite appreciative for this impressive turnout. If we had wanted it to be all-comers affairs, this place would not have accommodate our crowd, but we are thankful for your supports; steadfastness and dedication to the course you believe in”, he stated.
“I really do not have much to say but to be thanking God for preserving my life despite all manners of threats and intimidation.”
“Considering the fact that two other aspirants in our party are also calling similar meeting where you (delegates) are expected to attend. Rather than going to other places, you chose to honour my own invitation. God will honour you too.”
