Bolowotan Memorial Cup Enters Round of 16
After four weeks of intense football engagements among the 28 teams that registered for the ongoing 10th Bolowotan Memorial Gold cup, 16 teams have qualified for the next stage of the competition which has been described as a major football tournament in Ikorodu division in the recent time.
Two best teams each qualified from the 7 groups of 4 teams each to get 14 teams, while two best losers joined them to make the round of 16 teams.
Alhaji Luqman Shonibare, the Chairman, Ikorodu Division Football Association (IDFA), speaking with THE IMPACT, stated that the Round of 16 matches would commence at the Police Barracks Playing Ground in Ikorodu on Sunday, February 4, 2018.
“The first stage of the tournament, which has been a major football engagement in Ikorodu division in the recent time, has been a huge success. Thanks to the sponsor and organizers for their commitments and our professional officials for their professionalism and also the participating teams for their co-operations “, Alhaji Shonibare stated.
“We have 14 teams qualifying from the 7 groups of 4 teams each. The other two teams are best losers which are also going to join the 14 teams that qualified for the Round of 16”, he clarified.
Leading the pack are Golden Dollars and Oga Boys FCs with 9 points each, 8 other teams accumulated 7 points each, Eleniyan, Ogunade and Divine FCs garnered 6 points each, while Ultimate Villa got 4 points.
Excel and Current Football Clubs are the two teams joining the 14 teams to make it 16 teams.
